Who is Paul Nomad?

I am a 50-something Australian with a passion for travel and motorcycles. My two adult children are used to me living in different places, having had more than 15 addresses in 6 different cities/places since 2007.
I've had four major careers and a plethora of jobs over the years so I guess I can turn my hand to anything now!
I started riding motorcycles at 16 and after a long break rediscovered my passion for riding again a few years ago. I've had a lifelong dream to travel the world in an adventurous way and the marriage of motorcycles and travel is perfect for me. I'm a nomad at heart and get restless if I stay anywhere too long.

Intuitive travel has simply evolved for me. I don't care much for the main tourist attractions and towns, preferring instead to take the road less travelled. If the crowd is going one way, I'll go the other.

So when I travel by intuition I rarely look at a guide book and only have a sketchy outline and timeframe for what is ahead. I ride into a town or an area and get a 'feel' for it. I look for accommodation that simply says 'yes' to me...and sometimes that means asking at a lot of places first!

The people I meet, locals and travellers, help shape my direction and what to see along the way. Breakdowns or problems with the bike often dictate where I have to go. Travelling like this I have no expectations, an open heart, an open mind and treat all experiences, good and not so good, as a learning experience that I will grow from.

I love learning new languages but I'm really bad at it! I love seeing and becoming immersed in cultures I don't know and don't understand. I believe people are people and we are mostly exactly the same the world over. We have the same needs, loves and fears.

Intuitive travel puts me at the whim of destiny or fate or whatever you want to call it. I manage to stay positive most of the time and good things happen to me most of the time. The 'chance' meetings and occurrences no longer surprise me, it is part of intuitive travelling.

When You Come To a Fork In The Road....Take It!!
